Project Scope
Implementation
To ensure the re-growth of northern white-cedar on river property, we need property owners to help plant and protect northern white-cedar seedling. To date, through this project, 481 river property owners have planted and protected over 10,000 northern white-cedar tree seedlings on their river property. This year's project goal is to plant over 1,000 additional northern white-cedar tree seedling at the on the river's edge. This includes the protection of this year's seedlings and maturing trees with protective enclosures.
Direct mail advertising will go to area river property owners in June of each yeart. Newspaper advertising will occur over the July 4th weekend. Orders will be received from the river property owners for a September planting of northern white-cedar tree seedlings. The pre-ordered northern white-cedar tree seedlings will be pick up by the river property owners and planted by them on their river property.
